The challenges of making a made up Peter Strickland world was one everyone involved wanted to make.

Within a tight schedule and budget I was interested in getting the best out of a few locations. The dress was the main character and all other objects became moments around the dress. Having a haunted red dress as a central point was the basis for building the shop floor and then the interiors.

We developed the interiors after we became interested in the surreal and absurd. We first decided to use Croydon as the vortex for the film.

In Fabric is a haunting ghost story set against the backdrop of a busy winter sales period in a department store and follows the life of a cursed dress as it passes from person to person, with devastating consequences.
